This is 'Club Sov' another 6 pager, this time by Gordon Rennie, but done in full colour. I think this is the first full colour artwork I've done in 2000ad since episode 3 of Nikolai Dante. It was done on my then brand new OsX iMac in Photoshop 7.
hat Chris Blythe did a great job in colouring this, keeping it simple and muted and de-emphasizing the fuss.

I've only done a few Dredd stories, but they have all been great fun to draw.

Because there has been so much great Dredd art over the years, you do tend to feel that you need to give it your A-game and I think that this is some of my best work in, terms of making entertaining pages anyway.

The first section is from the short lived 'Junior' Dredd comic. "Judge Dredd Lawman of the Future", which is why the uniform and bike are a bit odds.

These pages are from a 3 parter called 'Blood Cadets', which featured the arrival on the scene of Judge Rico, a younger clone of Judge Fargo ( and therefore Dredd ). Part of the challenge of the story was to draw the same guy at 2 ages ,60 and 18. Subsequent appearances of the character of Rico have tended to ignore the fact that he must be 40 years younger than Dredd himself. I had some fun doing some in-jokes about the early Dredd stories here.
